This is a black and white print from multiple negatives with selective toning and added glitter. The collaged photographs of the moon were made to look like Polaroids. Merry photographed the moon extensively with a 35 mm camera (Minolta) and a sharp, telephoto lens. She was persistent in capturing perfect shots of the moon's phases.

Moon Series
The symbolism between the moon and women inspired Merry.
She studied the science and mythology associated with the moon as a powerful female counterpart of the sun. In 1992, she taught an interdisciplinary course on the moon's facts vs. fictions. Four faculty members shared their respective disciplines in science, religion, art and literature to help generate new ideas for all members of the class. Merry produced 28 new, complex photographs for the final project.
